The members of ABVP held a protest against the irregularities at the government boys’ Pre-University college in Bangarpet on Monday.
The college has umpteen number of problems related to basic amenities.
There are shortage of lecturers, classrooms, toilets, library facilities, sanitation, compound, sports equipment, supply of drinking water and other basic facilities since six years and no solution has been found till now, inspite of persistent requests, the students of the college alleged.
Classes are not held regularly and the results of examinations have drastically decreased. Also many lecturers are being transferred which has caused shortage of lecturers, they said.
The government which boasts of having achieved much in the field of education should see to the problem and find a solution as early as possible for the benefit of students of the college, said district co-ordinating secretary K Sampath Kumar.
He also said that the government is cheating the rural students and is not paying any heed to their problems, he added.
Later the students took out a procession submitted a memorandum to Tahsildar G V Nagraj.
Sub division officer Jayavibhava swamy, taluk panchayat Chief executive engineer Dr Venkataswamy, Block education officer A Mallashetty and others were also present.
ABVP members Harish, Vinay, Ajay Kumar, Nagendra, Karahalli Manjunath, Naveen Kumar and others led the protest.
