Rs 151.75 lakh for the progress of Gudibande
DH News Service, Gudibande:

As many as Rs 151.75 lakh has been sanctioned by the government for the works of the taluk. MLA G V Srinivas Reddy performed the ground-breaking ceremony of various  developmental works at Gudibande on Monday.

The progressive works will be undertaken at various stages. For the construction of concrete roads Rs 64 lakh, toilets Rs 8 lakh, office buildings Rs 16 lakh, vegetable market Rs 20 lakh, slaughter house market Rs 5 lakh, shandy Rs 5 lakh, supply of drinking water, materials required and purchase of pipelines Rs 27 lakh has been sanctioned, explained G V Srinivas Reddy.

The tender contract has been cancelled as per the government directive and the works will be started through the Zilla Panchayat, Public works department and Nirmithi centres, he stated.

As per law, for a work costing above Rs 5 lakh, a tender has to be called. But here, though the tender process was over through the town Municipal Corporation, the government direction to cancel it, arises so many questions. It is evident that the government is trying to favour someone, alleged Mr Srinivas Reddy.

Many developmental works undertaken by the Land army corporation and Nirmithi centres are still mired, said G V Srinivas Reddy.

Former Town Municipal Corporation member Asha Jayappa, CEO M Narayan, Engineer Raghunath, taluk leaders G V Gangi Reddy, Bhaira Reddy, Jayappa, Seetharam, contractor Narasimhappa, Lakshmipathi were present.
