Everyone should have a share in the development of a nation or a village.
Only when everyone join hands can a nation progress and along with this the villages also progress. But if the people expect development only through elected representatives then it is wrong, said the Union Minister of State for Surface Transport K H Muniyappa.
Mr Muniyappa was speaking after unveiling the portrait of Narayana Gowda during the centenary celebrations of the Higher Primary School in Cheldiganahalli in the taluk here and said in the municipal elections the Congress will emerge victorious.
However, along with legislator Ramesh Kumar, other Congress leaders should also work hard to see that even in the local body elections the party emerges victorious, the Union Minister K H Muniyappa added.
Ramesh Kumar who presided said that the late Narayan Gowda who had a fighter’s spirit, was a role model for everyone of them and especially today’s youth should follow Narayana Gowda’s principles, ideals and work for the progress of the country.
Zilla Panchayat president Venkatamuniyappa who was the chief guest laid the foundation stones for various works.
Taluk Panchayat president Venkatswamy, District Congress president Bisegowda, Tumkur District farmers’ leader Rangaswamy, MLC V R Sudarshan and other leaders participated in the function. Local Congress leader Mr Muniswamy Gowda was felicitated on the occasion.
