A man was arrested and spurious liquor worth Rs 3.5 lakh seized from him by Chennamakere Achchukattu police on Tuesday.
Srinivas Murthy alias Yelle Gowda was arrested on Ittamadu main road. During interrogation, he said he used to make spurious liquor and fake labels of various liquor brands and the excise department.
Police suspect the involvement of more persons in the case. A search is on for them.
Held for stereos’ theft
The SJ Park police arrested two people and recovered 15 car stereos worth Rs 2.2 lakh. The two, Sajad (20) and Zabi (18), both residents of Yelahanka, were arrested on charges of car stereo thefts in Shivajinagar, Tannery Road and SJP Road.
The duo were arrested when they were trying to sell stolen stereo systems on SJP Road. An autorickshaw stolen by the two was also recovered.
LPG cylinders seized
Chennamakere Achchukattu police seized 45 LPG cylinders worth Rs 50,000 and arrested one person in this connection.
Ramaiah alias Ramu (45) used to purchase LPG cylinders from a gas agency on Mysore Road and transfer the gas into small cylinders used by autorickshaws. He sold these cylinders to autorickshaw drivers.
