The students of the Government PU College citing the lack of basic facilities staged a protest here on Tuesday in front of the college.
More than 1500 students from different parts of the taluk come for studies in the college. Including the toilets there is no basic facility here.
As a result the students are put to a lot of hardship. Girl students in particular have to face a lot more problems because of the lack of toilet facilities, said SFI taluk president K N Muneendra which spearheaded the agitation.
Hundreds of rupees are collected in the name of college development funds. The legislator is also the president of the school development committee. He boasted that during his tenure lot of developments have taken place. But let him show the progress, they demanded.
The lack of teachers in the college should immediately be fulfilled. Toilet facilities should be provided. The most important necessity for students, the desks and library must be given and also computer training must be imparted, they urged.
Praveen, Anand, Devaraju, Prabhakar, Suresh, Soumya, Asha, Rukmini, Nagaratna, Hema, Hamsa, Roopini, Manjunath and others led the agitation.
