The engineering skills of the Indian students is better than most in the world. Thus, in the next four years the students should study in depth and assimilate greater amount of technology and create something new and make greater contributions to their nation, said Dr Chidananda Gowda, retired professor of the Kuvempu University.
He was speaking at the inauguration of the Freshers’ Day programme at the Tiptur Kalpataru Technical College. Gaining of knowledge is more precious than diamond and thus the onus lies on the students to make better use of the opportunities provided to them, he added.
Students by channelising their skills and intelligence in the right direction can make great strides in the domain of world technology, thus making India a global player, he added. Moreover, instead of mere accumulation of material wealth, the students should enhance their intellectual wealth, he observed.
In the US Silicon Valley every third engineer is an Indian and there are 5,000 professors, 30,000 doctors and by 2032 India would be in the second position in the field of technology.
