Villagers protest against absentee accountants
DH News Service, Kolar:

Villagers of the Kasaba hobli, Kolar taluk protested on Tuesday against the non-availability of the Tamaka village accountants for the people.

‘If we have to meet the village accountants then we have to wait for nearly a week and keep frequenting the taluk office.

Sometimes it so happens that even after prolonged waiting for about 15 days it would not be possible to meet the accountants’, the villagers complained.

We are thus stranded without income , caste certificates, land title deeds and other such important documents, which are very essential, to avail oneself of the facilities accorded by the government, complained the villagers of Tamaka.

If we approach the accountants with our woes, they are not to be found.  In the process both out time and money is wasted, said Venkatalakshmamma of the Ambedkar Nagar.

The concerned higher authorities should take stringent action against the absentee accountants, the villagers of Tamaka urged.
