The Krishna devotees performed the pooja as part of Sri Krishna Janmashtami, here on Tuesday.
Many had also observed fast. The little footprints of Krishna were drawn in many houses and the eatables that the lord loves like beaten rice was prepared. Special pooja was performed at the Sri Krishna temple on Water Tank road.
In Geetha Mandira the women folk sang bhajans and brought cheer to the whole proceedings of the festival.
At the Madhava Dharmashala close to Yelemallappa Road, milk bath and mahamangalarathi was performed for Sri Krishna idol. At the Sri Panduranga temple bhajans and poojas were performed.
Like every year Sri Krishna dress competitions for children was organised under the auspices of Sarswathi Vidyaniketan. At the Sri Balamurugan Kalyan Mantap the children dressed like Krishna drew everyone’s attention.
