BMD camp at KMC today

KMC Hospital in Attavar along with Novartis India will be conducting a free Bone Mineral Density (BMD) camp at the hospital on September 5 to check Osteopriosis. According to a press release, Osteoporosis is a bone disease where the bone becomes thin and fragile leading to fracture.

The disease occurs when either the body fails to form enough new bone or too much of the old bone is destroyed or both. Some of the reasons and risk factors are prolonged, cigarette smoking, excessive alcohol intake, deficiency of calcium and vitamin D, excessive drinking of carbonated drinks steroid intake and premature menopause.  The camp will be held from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm on Wednesday.
