Adjustments With Bombay, Kerala

Bangalore, Sept. 4.
Mr S Nijalingappa, Chief Minister, said here today that negotiations on inter-State level were being held on the question of boundary adjustments concerning the State of Mysore, Bombay and Kerala.
The Chief Minister, who was speaking to newsmen, said that questions concerning boundary adjustments should be resolved without “any fuss”. Those questions were now being dealt with by the leaders concerned.
Asked about the future of Hosur, 24 miles from Bangalore, the Chief Minister said he was not officially  aware of the award.
Lok Sabha Adopts Expenditure Tax Bill
New Delhi, Sept. 4.
The Lok Sabha today passed the Expenditure Tax Bill, claimed to be the first Bill of the kind to the world. Before passing the measure, the Finance Minister Mr TT Krishnamachari, exempted books from the purview of the tax and doubled the exemption limit.

Cauvery Talks Put Off
By A Staff Reporter
Bangalore, Sept. 4.
The Southern Chief Ministers’ meeting on the Cauvery water dispute scheduled for today has been postponed as Union Irrigation Minister Kedar Nath Pandey who was to preside over the talks, could not turn up.
The Chief Ministers of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Pondicherry, were to participate in the talks. Kerala Chief Minister K Karunakaran, Pondicherry Chief Minister D Ramachandran and Tamil Nadu Power Minister S Ramachandran have already arrived in the City.
