The Karnataka Information Commission (KIC) on Tuesday penalised yet another Public Information Officer with Rs 10,000, for ignoring repeated instructions and summons to attend the hearing.The KIC penalised Thimmappa, PIO, District Social Welfare Department of Bangalore, for not furnishing information under the RTI to one J S Renuka, assistant cook in the same department.

Finally Renuka complained against the PIO to the KIC. During the hearing the PIO was instructed to give copies of the records and attend the hearing. Despite the summons, he failed to attend the hearing on Tuesday.
