Ranga Shankara hosts 1000th show
Ranga Shankara will host its 1000th performance on September 12 with the play ‘Pampabharata’ by the troupe Samudaya.
“The 1000th show is significant for us as we had committed ourselves to relentless theatre in a city, where dedicated space for theatre did not exist,” said Arundhati Nag, creative director of Ranga Shankara.
Book on aerial photography
French photographer Nicolas Chorier, an exponent in kite photography has come up with a book titled ‘Kite’s Eye View: India Between Earth and Sky’. The book is based on aerial photography and showcases pictures shot by Chorier in India for the the past 10 years. Unique and spectacular views of wonders of India such as the Mehrangarh fort, Nagaur fort, Pushkar, Taj Mahal, Hampi and others are part of the book. It was released by Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, C M Udasi in the City on Wednesday. It is priced at Rs 2,975 and available at all leading book stores. An exhibition of photographs from the book are on display at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat till September 7 from 10 am to 7pm.
