Certificate programmes from St Joseph’s College
St. Joseph's College has started 19 new certificate programmes of 120 hours each. These programmes are designed for students who are currently pursuing their 3 year degree courses. The courses will be held on Saturday afternoons between 2 and 5 pm and other public holidays.
Three of these certificate programmes are sponsored by the UGC.
Info Script - a Medical Transcription company offers a course in Medical transcription, and exposes the students to alternative careers.
There are other courses like Advertising/ Media and Journalism/ Legal Literacy/ Documentary Production etc. which are being offered by professional in the respective fields.
The college is also starting full time coaching classes for Civil Service exams conducted by the UPSC for IAS/IPS/IFS etc. Application for the same are sold at Rs 20 at the College office. Interested candidates who have completed their graduation / post graduation can apply. Last date to apply is September 8, 2007.
Hindi, Kannada exams
The Hindi Lower and Higher Examinations of the Karnataka Mahila Hindi Seva Samithi, Chamarajpet, Bangalore 560 018 will be held on September 8, 2007 and the Hindi Lower, Higher and Kannada Examination will be held on September 9, 2007 in various centres of the State.
B.Ed correspondence course

TKM signs MoU with BU
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the development of Japanese language with Bangalore University for a further three years from 2007 to 2010.
This is the third time that the MoU is being signed between the two for the furtherance of Japanese language. The intention behind the MoU is to provide assistance and support to further strengthen the foreign languages department of the university.
According to the MoU, TKM will financially assist the Japanese language section for the period of 2007-2010. The funds would be utilised for the promotion and up gradation of the Japanese language courses in the University. It would also include sponsorship of a Japanese professor, study material and teaching aid devices for the course.

Classes for KPSC exam

NID launches nidus at Bangalore campus
National Institute of Design has launched its design retail outlet nidus at the Bangalore campus.
The first nidus came up in the NID Ahmedabad campus. Today, with the R&D Campus at Bangalore fully functional, nidus offers a gallery space where design ideas and material explorations can be brought out of the classroom situation to a first-hand experience for those wanting to move into an exploratory space.
nidus will retail products designed by NID’s students, faculty and alumni featuring a diverse range of ready-to-use products in a gamut of exciting materials such as fabrics, ceramics, leather, natural fibres, silver, steel, wood, brass and more. The product range will encompass home décor, desktop accessories, tableware, personal accessories, floor coverings, leather products, natural fibre products, contemporary jewellery, films, CD ROMS, souvenirs and NID publications.
nidus has been envisaged as a creative hub for designers, established with the prime focus to celebrate good design even as it makes well designed products available to a large section of consumers.
