'Teachers have a key role in development'  
In our Culture, teachers are shown greatest respect as the society expects a great responsibility of inculcating values and developing the personality of the future citizens of the country, Town Municipal administration and District In-charge Minister Alangur Srinivas said.
Protest held for more hostels  
Hundreds of Dalit Sangharsha Samithi and students' Union members protested in front of the taluk office pressing for basic amenities and completion of the hostel buildings works as soon as possible.

Approval for construction of church sought  
The Activists of Dalit Christ Union began indefinite strike in front of the town hall in Bangarpet demanding renewal of licence for the construction of church in Tipu nagar.
'Increase in population calls for immediate action'  
Several problems have already cropped up due to the population explosion and hence, to prevent any more harm, we need to take preventive measures now, district surgeon Dr H Pratap Soorya said.
