Teachers should strive to shape the students’ career and help them become responsible citizens, said Mr Shashikant Naik, Horticulture and District In-charge Minister.
At a function organised by Zilla Panchayat and education department to mark Teacher’s Day here on Wednesday, Mr Naik said the teachers could contribute immensely towards building nation by imparting quality education to their students. The teachers should also ensure that education they were imparting in rural segments helped in the healthy growth of students.
Dr Radhakrishnan who rose to the post of President of the country had given a high status to the teaching profession. The teaching methodologies should help the students in gaining knowledge, he said and urged them to make best use of the available infrastructure in the institutions. He said the government was extending many facilities to improve educational institutions in the state.
Dr Gurudevi Huleppanavarmath the teachers had a vital role to play in giving a respectable status to their students in the society. She said Dr Radhakrishnan, as a teacher, had worked hard to produce great students. The teachers should instil best qualities in their students.
Mr N Prabhakar, CEO of Zilla Panchayat said the teachers should never come under pressure while imparting education to their students and make sure that their contribution help in shaping the lives of students. Mr F D Gorbal, President of ZP called upon students and teachers to build a healthy relation to improve quality of education.
The district-level Best Teachers Awards were presented to 11 teachers while 30 retired high school teachers, 36 primary school teachers were felicitated in recognition of their contribution to the field of education.
