Seminar concludes
The two-day national seminar on ‘Promotion and preservation of folklore and fine arts in the age of globalisation,’ organised by RPD College was concluded recently.
Dr M R Shanbag, chief guest, expressed confidence that globalisation could never erode Indian cultural ethos, nativity and folk arts. He further said that Indian culture and values were deep rooted in the hearts of people and would not easily vanish because of globalisation.
Principal Ms A J Naik spoke about the rationale behind choosing the theme of folklore and fine arts. Dr S L Kulkarni presented a brief report of the two days deliberations in the seminar. Many delegates from different states expressed their views about the seminar.
On the occasion, Mr V L Ajagoankar, in his presidential remarks, stressed upon the need to include folklore and fine arts in regular curriculum in schools and also argued for a separate television channel on the same in all languages.
