A pillion rider succumbed to the injuries she sustained in a bus-mobike collision at Kotepadavu Cross in Gramachavadi on the outskirts of the City on Wednesday. According to police, the deceased has been identified as Nishitha (22).

In a separate incident, a certain Sheikh Javed was killed when a tempo in which he was travelling fell into a 30 feet deep trench between 9 and 10 curve of Charmadi Ghat in the wee hours of Wednesday. Speedy driving is said to be reason behind the mishap.

10 hurt

As many as 10 people were injured when a bus fell into a 20 feet deep ditch at Thiplepadavu on Wednesday.
According to police, the condition of two injured is said to be serious.

The mishap occurred when bus driver tried to avoid a collision with a mobike. A case has been registered.

Decamped

Some unidentified miscreants decamped with a jewellery worth Rs 1.20 lakh from a house at Gramachavadi by breaking open the back door of the house. According to police, they entered the house when nobody was in the house.

Man ends life

A man committed suicide by hanging himself at Balehithalu in Belthangady taluk. According to police, the deceased has been identified as Nagaraju (45). Financial constraints forced him to take an extreme step to end life, they said.
