The government was willing to correct itself if there was any truth in the charge made by Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission chairman, said Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.
He was speaking to reporters on Tuesday before leaving Pothalkatti in Hospet after completing his village halt programme.
KERC Chairman K P Pandey had reportedly said on Monday that electricity supply companies were suffering losses as they were not able to work independently due to government restrictions.
He clarified that he had not misused CM’s discretionary quota in allotting BDA sites as reported in a section of the newsmedia. He claimed that he had not misused his quota unlike his predecessor. He had only given sites to C-grade employees and lift operators in Vidhana Soudha and not to his relatives, he said.
Replying to a question on transfer of power in the government, the CM said that an agreement was reached before the formation of the coalition government that power would be transferred to the BJP and not to DyCM B S Yediyurappa. It was up to the BJP whether it should make Yediyurappa CM, he added.
With a grin, he said that he had been confused by repeatedly hearing about transfer of power. A correct decision would be taken on October 3, he added.
Officials had been directed to tighten security in view of terrorist threat to Bangalore. Such evil designs were being planned to adversely affect Bangalore’s economic progress. The government would take all measures to ensure security, he said.
A meeting would be held in Bangalore to take a decision on sanctioning 30,000 houses in Bellary, he added.
Municipal polls
The result of municipal elections was not people’s assessment of the government. Poll results would not affect the government, he said.
