Western Ghat natural calamity victims will stage indefinite protest in front of Taluk office from September 7 onwards, urging the government to fulfill their various demands, said Horata Samithi Convenors B K Lakshman, S A Vijayendra.
Addressing a press meet, they said several memorandums have been submitted to the people’s representatives and district officials, urging to fulfill our demands, but nothing has been materialised so far.
This part of Western Ghat has received 300 to 400 inches of rainfall this year. As a result, all the crops have been destroyed completely.
“The villagers of Urubage, Hanthooru and Tripura villages have already submitted a memorandum to the government in this regard. We will continue our protest till the government responds to our demands,” he added.
