Belavadi villagers staged a protest in front of taluk office, urging the authorities to rectify the discrepancies in the distribution of food grains to the ration card holders and to solve the drinking water problem here on Tuesday.

The protestors said most of the residents in the village are in BPL.

Government has given BPL cards to some and some are still denied of BPL cards. Though the Food and Civil Supply department had assured to distribute BPL cards instead of APL cards, the assurances have not been realised so far.

Foodgrains are distributed only for those with BPL cards. They urged the government to distribute BPL cards to the beneficiaries at the earliest.
