They sacrificed their lives selflessly for our safety and the freedom we enjoy but what efforts we made to honor these true army soldiers?, asks Sharan H Desai, former member of state planning board (Bangalore) who has built the photo frame of late Col Vasanth inside a bottle without breaking it. Col Vasanth was killed in an encounter with militants in Jammu and Kashmir in 2007.

He has built late Col Vasanth’s photo frame inside the bottle with an Indian flag folded, just using the bottle hole on the top to pay tribute to the departed soldier by presenting this piece of art to his wife Subhashini.
“So far no one among the the elected officials including Chief Minister of Karnataka and MlA’s/MLC’s has paid tribute to him in the Legislative Assembly, Council or in any function” says Sharan. “Now there is a greater responsibilty and a cause that needs to be fought for the interest of those affected army families here in state as well as centre” he added. Col Vasanth was the first Ashoka Chakra awardee from Karnataka state.
