Bangalore concert

The Symphony Orchestra of India (SOI), will performing at the JN Tata Auditorium on September 9 am at 7 pm. The 60-piece SOI has taken shape under the direction of the world famous violinist and conductor Mara Bisengaliev.

Marat Bisengaliev has performed across the world and with many leading orchestras, and is the creator of the Kazakh Chamber Orchestra, the West Kazakhstan Philharmonic and the Turan Alem Kazakhstan Philharmonic.
The programme in Bangalore will start with two short pieces: Sarasate’s “Navarra” (Spanish Dance) and Massenet’s “Meditation”. This will be followed by Prokofiev’s “Classical Symphony” and Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No 2. Post the interval, the orchestra will perform Mozart’s Symphony No 41 (Jupiter). This last piece will be performed as a tribute to Jamshed Bhabha, creator of theNCPA and benefactor of the SOI.

The clarinet for the Weber Concerto will be played by Michael Collins, one of the leading clarinettists of our time and, like Marat Bisengaliev, has performed in many cities with many great orchestras.

The event is being presented by the NCPA in association with the International Music and Arts Society of Bangalore and with the Taj Group of Hotels.

Donor passes are priced at Rs 800, Rs 600, Rs 400 and Rs 200 and are available at the Taj Residency hotel.
