Nala Paaka”, a working women’s cookbook by Vijayalakshmi Reddy is a boon to multi-tasking women who are hard pressed for time. The book priced at Rs 99 is published by Bangalore-based Prism Books Pvt Ltd.
“I am presenting well-planned day by day weekly menu for simple, quick and easy cooking . There is a separate Sunday special menu for leisure relishment,” says the author.
Vijayalakshmi Reddy has been a cookery enthusiast right from her younger days. She has a diploma in hotel mangement from the Food Craft Technological Institute, Bangalore. She has been running cookery classes for the past two decades.
Most of her students are young girls, spinsters, housewives besides film stars and eminent personalities.
She is a consultant to organisations like Karnataka Milk Federation, Awake, Eureka Forbes. She regulary writes cookery columns in various newspapers and her cookery demostrations are being aired on E-TV and Udaya TV regularly. She has received widespread recognition for her culinary skills, both in India and abroad. Her earlier books have received good response. One of her books from Prism, “Andhra gumumulu” has been recommended for home science students in Tamil Nadu and is under third reprint.
