An SUV allegedly driven by a minor boy rammed into a woman and his nephew returning from Janmastami celebrations here, killing the boy on the road.
The incident took place at around 9 pm on Tuesday night at Peeragarhi in west Delhi.
The 12-year-old boy, who was at the wheel of a Toyota Qualis, lost control and rammed the vehicle into 3-year-old Vivek and his aunt Puspha, police said.
The duo were rushed to Sanjay Gandhi hospital where doctors declared Vivek brought dead, they said. Puspha, who suffered critical injuries, is battling for her life.
The driver of the vehicle was sitting next to the boy, son of a local travel agent. The boy and driver Deepak were caught from the scene by Subhash, Pushpa’s husband and other passerbys and were handed over to police who arrested them.
Subhash, who had a narrow escape, said he saw the vehicle hitting his wife and nephew. The body of the victim has been sent for post-mortem.
