AP blasts: Bomb planter arrested in Bangalore
Hyderabad, agencies:

The Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the August 25 twin blasts here, has arrested a Bangladeshi national, suspected to have planted bomb at Lumbini Park, from a Bangalore hideout on Tuesday. According to police sources here on Thursday, the SIT arrested  Rizwan Ghazi, who was absconding ever since his name figured in the case.

The breakthrough came when the cops seized Ghazi’s driving licence, the image on which closely resembled the sketch released by the police recently.

Based on the information given by his sister Shafia Rafsanjani, who was arrested recently, police raided the hideout and arrested the “bomb planter”. Police also seized some incriminating material, two bags, iron balls and telephone numbers of some Bangladeshi contacts. However, top officials were not ready to divulge any information regarding the progress of investigation.

The SIT has found during their investigation that the HUJI  used Bidar as a main base to trigger blasts in South India.

Bangladesh irked
Meanwhile, Bangladesh has denied any arrests in connection with the blasts and said it has not received any request from India for information. It also slammed the Indian media for trying to portray Bangladesh as a hotbed of terrorism and said such reports were “disturbing and clearly motivated”.  “Bangladesh is yet to receive any request for information in connection with the Hyderabad blasts and there have been no arrests,” the Foreign Ministry said

Narco test in B’lore
Bangalore, dhns: Kaleem, an accused in the Hyderabad bomb blast case underwent narco-analysis test at Bowring Hospital in Bangalore on Wednesday.

Chief forensic psychiatrist, Forensic Science Laboratory, Dr Malini, who conducted the tests told reporters that in the narco tests, neither Kaleem nor Imran revealed any connection between the Hyderabad blasts and Bangalore.

Imran — another accused in the Hyderabad blast also underwent narco-analysis on Tuesday.

Hyderabad police commissioner Balwinder Singh told Deccan Herald on the telephone, that they have not found any Bangalore connection so far. “We are waiting for the narco test reports,” he added.

According to a PTI report from Hyderabad, Kaleem alias Rafeeq is understood to have revealed he had supplied cellphone SIM cards to the operatives of terror outfits from Bangladesh.

During the narco-analysis test, Rafeeq “corroborated” the version given by his associate Syed Imran Khan who underwent the test on Tuesday, police sources said.

He is said to have admitted he had played a key role in arranging logistical support to a terror module in the city.
Based on revelations made by Imran and Rafeeq, the Hyderabad police believe that there was a connection between the May 18 blast at Mecca Masjid here and the August 25 twin blasts at Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat Bhandar.
