Chris Harris, the former New Zealand all-rounder, is being tipped to join the Indian Cricket League after deciding not to renew his contract with first class team Canterbury. “We are sad to lose Chris. He has been an outstanding player and leader for Canterbury,” Canterbury Cricket chief executive Richard Reid said.

Andy Roddick will lead a confident US Davis Cup team into Sweden for a semifinal tie in two weeks with hopes of lifting the Americans one step nearer to their first title since 1995. Roddick was joined by sixth-ranked James Blake and doubles veterans Mike and Bob Bryan on the squad named by US captain Pat McEnroe.
