Process of education will be meaningful only when students are eager to learn and teachers who share genuine interest in moulding the personality of his student by imparting their knowledge and skills honestly, opined Principal K R Ravikumar.
He was speaking after releasing a souvenir - Malur Mallige, on the occasion of teacher’s day celebrations in Malur on Wednesday. Students should imbibe ideals and strive to build a new society, he said adding that guidance of ‘guru’ for student is necessary in each stage of his development.
Malur Vijayakumar said, even 60 years after India gained independence, the revival of cultural values has remained impossible and to make it worse, the youngsters are falling prey to bad habits. He called upon the students to imbibe these cultural values through the education and carve a niche for themselves in society by leading a good life.
Lecturer Eshwarappa said, the child gets rebirth in education by a way of socialisation beginning in the school. Hence, not only good parenting, but also laying foundation for good social life is important and it is teachers who hold this responsibility of effective socialisation, he added.
Litterateur Dr C M Govinda Reddy commended the college for bringing out a souvenir comprising articles with the significant literary merits, for the first time in 18 years since the establishment of the college.
