A preliminary meeting of teachers decided to celebrate this year’s Teachers’ Day on September 10, said BEO S Rajkumar.
As part of the Teachers’ Day, various sports competitions have been organised by the Primary School Teachers’ Association on September 8 at the town’s PU College premises. The teachers should participate without fail, he has said.
For lady teachers kho kho and throw ball and for men teachers kabbadi, volleyball and 100 mtrs race and short putt has been organised for both. The Kannada Sahithya Parishat has arranged bhavageethe, bhaktigeethe, janapadegeethe and essay writing competitions. Those interested should participate without fail, he said.
On September 10 every teacher must be compulsorily present to participate in Teachers’ Day celebrations as attendance will be taken, said Rajkumar in the release.
Teachers’ meeting
Taluk Teachers’ Cooperative Association general body meeting is being held on September 29 at 11.30 am at its building on Mahaveer Road. The shareholders are requested to attend the meeting and give their suggestions, said a press release.
The members’ children who have scored the highest marks in SSLC and PUC 2006-07 examinations will be felicitated and prizes given.
