Private engineering colleges, especially in rural areas, have been imparting quality education and providing the students an access to higher education and thereby unfolding new avenues of career, opined Prof B S Sonde.
He was speaking after inaugurating the first semester classes at at Channabasaveshvara Institute of Technology in Gubbi near Tumkur.
He commended the institute for achieving excellency within a short span of period since its inception.
The field of engineering is witnessing rapid development with numerous inventions taking place everyday and thereby new areas of specialisation have increased creating more and more job opportunities, the scientist said.
He called upon the students to have comprehensive knowledge of their subject and gain expertise in the field to keep pace with the speed with which the engineering sector is growing at global level.
He advised the students to keep in mind that the talented engineers are in demand in the global market.
Prof K V Vishwanath of R V Engineering College in Bangalore said, expertise in the subject is a base for all inventions and hence, he told students to invest their energy and time to read their subject thoroughly.
President of the college and former Memeber of Parliament G S Basavaraju said, the institute was established with a vision to provide higher education to the students of remote rural areas and it was serving the purpose.
