TUMKUR BRIEFS

JD (S) invites application
Tumkur, dhns:

Applications have been invited from the aspirants for the JD (S) seat to contest in the Tumkur CMC elections as part of the local bodies election. The last date for submitting the application is Sept 10, said Party president and legislator H Ningappa, in a release.

The aspirants should submit their applications in the party office. Congress also has already accepted the applications from their aspirants. Only the BJP has still not called for applications.

Minister is responsible for grants: BJP

It is a political gimmick that the words are doing the rounds that for the development works that has been going on in Tumkur limits since the last eight months the officials are responsible, said BJP City unit.

“It should be noted that since the last eight months Sericulture Minister Sogadu Shivanna has been successful for bringing in the grants for providing basic amenities,” said the president of the city unit Ramesh Achar, in a release.

For drinking water Rs 48 crore, development of roads Rs 70 crore and getting special package from the government, his role is very clear. Apart from this he has also been responsible for bringing in transparency in local administration and in collecting taxes, he said in the release.

Job mela, today tomorrow
Tumkur, dhns:

A massive job mela has been organised on Friday and Saturday at Channabasevasawara Engineering College (C.I.T) in Gubbi, said the organisation director Dr D S Sureshkumar, in a release.

The mela is being held under the joint auspice of the CIT educational institutions and in this job mela, more than 75 state and national companies will be participating. Nearly 5,000 job aspirants are likely to participate in the mela, he said.

Including engineers, IT experts, MBA, MCA graduates all types of graduates can participate in the job mela. Education experts and job guidance counsellors will be present at the mela and give proper information regarding higher education in the country and abroad and also about professional education. This is the uniqueness of this mela, he said in the release.
