The Kala silk festival is being held at Hotel Woodlands in Mangalore for a week now. The festival has been organised as part of Gowri Ganesh and other festivals.
Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, Gurvinder Arora of Kalaniketan said that the exhibition cum sale of sarees and handicrafts from all over India is in Mangalore for the second consecutive year and that it has received tremendous response from the localites last time.
There are around 100 stalls from 25 states of India which offer a wide range of sarees, dress materials, curtain, bedsheets and pillow covers, jewellery and handicrafts. There are Punjabi Phulkasi handwoven dress materials and Panipat leather bags and footwear to name a few.
There are upto 65 per cent discount for some items even though they are already sold for competitive prices. The exhibition will last till September 15, Mr Arora informed.
