Mescom's apathy flayed
DH News Service, Balehonnur:

The residents of Sigase in Hiregadde Gram Panchayat limits have complained to the police about the neglegent attitude of MESCOM Officers.

A tranformer of about 63 KV capacity, which provides electricity to over 15 houses in the region is on the verge of collapse. The power lines that pass over the road that connects Aralikoppa and Sigase are drooping low at an accessible height and is thus posing threat to the commuters, perturbing the movement of the vehicles on this road.

The local residents have brought the matter to the attention of MESCOM officers almost three months ago. But the careless officers have not yet taken any steps to set right the precarious conditions here.

Following the failure of the MESCOM officers, the residents finally resorted to filing a complaint aganist the authorities concerned at Balehonnur police station.

The local residents have also alleged that the lineman working in the region has been resorting to demanding bribe from the local residents and have hence said that this lineman must be transferred immediately.

They have said that this lineman comes in a vehicle on the pretext of repairing the powerlines and then demands for thousands of rupees as vehicle rent. The residents demanded stern action aganist the lineman.
