Sir Ben Kingsley, who bagged an Oscar for his portrayal of Mahatma Gandhi, has secretly married a Brazilian actress little more than half his age.

This is Mr Kingsley’s fourth marriage. Ben, 63, married 34-year-old Daniela Barbose de Carneiro at a secret ceremony on Monday at Eynsham Hall. The couple had been dating for a year after being introduced by mutual friends in Hollywood. Instead of going on a honeymoon, Ms Daniela will accompany Sir Ben on the shoot of his new film “The Love Guru” in Canada. In an interview to ‘The Daily Telegraph’, Sir Ben dismissed their age difference. “It is a perfectly balanced relationship, which like scales, includes its swings. Without sounding pompous, she looks like a combination of ancient Egypt and ancient Rome,” the veteran said.
