Raghavendra Patil, a diminutive man from Hubli, actually has a powerhouse for a mind. And he’s put it to use in a manner he knows best— reading others’ minds to see what kind of a personality they are! Spooked? Don’t be, for he can actually read your personality traits just by listening to your voice as you speak with him. As with any soothsayer, you will need to give an error margin of 20-25 per cent, but even so, an accuracy rate ranging from 65-80 per cent is good.
But Raghavendra Patil is not like your neighbourhood astrologer. A Diploma holder in Journalism and Film Acting, he set out to realise his dream of becoming an actor. He took active part in theatre in Hubli. His love for writing saw him contributing many an article to Kannada publications. His father, late Gurunath Patil, was a former journalist with Samyukta Karnataka and Karmaveera.
Moved on
After a seven-year stint as a wireless operator in the State Forest Department, his search for better job opportunities brought him to Bengaluru, where he started conducting theatre workshops for children. Slowly word about his ability to read minds started to spread and he became sought after by TV and film personalities and politicians too.
When asked about his ability to read minds, Patil told Metrolife, “I’ve had intuitive powers since my childhood. But people didn’t take me seriously until they realised my predictions were coming true. When I talk to people, I can feel both positive and negative vibrations. I took up this field because people encouraged me to do it as a service to society. I don’t offer religious solutions, I only tell them what I can gather through vibrations I receive. But I do suggest changes in behaviour or habits wherever necessary. Belief in what I say is left to the people who choose to consult me. And I don’t charge a specific amount of money for consultations. I accept whatever is offered to me.”
As a mind reader
Patil conceded that mind reading is a strenuous task. But that doesn’t stop him from continuing to practice it. He, however, does not allow his readings to come in the way of his cordial interactions with people. “I don’t mean to harm anyone; what I do is for public good. I don’t tell people of personal tragedies as that only causes pain. I don’t know if my ability to read minds will stay forever, but as long as I am able to, I will reach out to those in need. For this purpose, I have also set up a helpline called Lifeline Concern,” he said.
