Dilip Kumar, with a total of plus six, won the ninth N A Muthanna Memorial golf tournament at the KGA course on Saturday. L V Nagarajan, plus five, finished second.

Deepali outplays Mythreyi
Deepali Karumbaiah made short work of Mythreyi 21-7, 21-8 to advance to the second round in the under-13 girls’ section of the East Cultural Association’s State-ranking badminton tournament that got under way in Bangalore on Saturday.
Parvathy S too won the first round tie with an equally facile 21-6, 21-9 verdict over Harshila.
Meanwhile, Monisha A Gowda fought back after conceding the first game against Ankitha N. Monisha won 19-21, 21-11, 21-11 in another first round encounter in the same category.

Inter-school sports festival
The Jain Academy for Sporting Excellence (JASE) will conduct their annual invitational inter-school Sports Festival for JASE Cup from September 10 to 14 at the Jain International Residential School’s Sports Complex, Kanakapura Road, Bangalore.
A total of 500 participants are expected to take part in the five-day meet in nine disciplines .
