Rupesh wins World title

Indias Rupesh Shah overcame countryman Ashok Shandilya in the final to annex his maiden IBSF World Billiards Championships crown in Singapore on Saturday.


According to reports reaching here, the Gujarat cueist defeated the burly Shandilya 6-4 to win the points format title.
In the semifinals, Shah outclassed Pankaj Advani conqueror Kyaw Oo of Myanmar 5-0, while Shandilya got the better of Australia’s Matthew Bolton 5-1.
Results: Final: Rupesh Shah (Ind) bt Ashok Shandilya (Ind) 6-4. Semifinals: Rupesh Shah bt Kyaw Oo (Myn) 5-0; Ashok Shandilya bt Matthew Bolton 5-1.
