Garden City College held the Gardenia Pumpout 2008 recently. It was organised on the fourth day of the week long fest by Outback India, an organisation in the field of adventure sports. The event witnessed participation of reputed sportspeople in the field of rock climbing and bouldering, some of whom have already represented the sport at the national level. It was judged by experts from diverse fields of sports climbing. The panel comprised  Venkatesh who has been in the field for 15 years, Balaji, Rajesh - who has been into the sport for 18 years; Muniraj who has competed in several south-zone events and constantly goes for trekking to the Himalayas and Archana, the winner of Eklavya award and the championship held at the Asian level. The competition was overseen by the current coach of the national team Keerthi Pais. Other events of Gardenia included fests for Department of Tourism-Tornus, Department of Management-Elixir and Department of Hindi-Utkarshan.
