Demanding the demolition of illegally constructed building at Chikkamarihalli village in the Bangarpet taluk, members of the Dalit Sangarsha Samiti and Vidya Arogya Gram Seva Samiti are staging a indefinite dharna at taluk panchayat office in Bangarpet from Monday.
The members alleged that illegal constructions are rampant inn villages under Ketaganahalli gram panchayat due to the instigation of the GP secretary Kempanna. The members demanded immediate suspension of the Secretary in order to maintain peace and tranquillity in the village.
Though many a times memorandum has been given to the gram panchayat to provide basic amenities to the villages they have not paid any heed to the requests, alleged members who said that drinking water
supply to the Dimbal village has been delayed unnecessarily.
“The negligence and apathy of the taluk administration is the main reason for the sorry state of the villages” criticised villagers.
The dharna is being lead by Dalit Sangarsha Samiti’s taluk Coordinator Sanganahalli Ramesh, Annadorai, Samiti Treasury Muralidhar and Vidya Arogya Gram Seva Samiti members.
