India's leading shooter Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has recruited American coach Josh Lakatos as he steps up his preparations to win a second Olympic medal at the Beijing Games in August. Rathore won silver in the men's double trap event in Athens four years ago and is his country's leading hope to pick up a first individual gold at the Summer Games in August.
“Yes, I am working with American Josh Lakatos and hoping to spend as much quality time with him as possible before the Beijing Games,” Rathore said on on Monday. “At this point in time, you need someone else to analyse your performance and I feel Josh is well suited for that.”
Lakatos, a top shooter himself, won a silver in trap at the 1996 Atlanta Games and took up coaching after his forced retirement in 2003 due to an injury. "He (Lakatos) would accompany me to the four World Cup events and competitions before the Beijing Games,” Rathore said.
