Cong panel to be set up today
DH News Service, New Delhi:
The AICC is likely to announce on Monday the formation of the coordination committee of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) to gear up the State unit to fight the forthcoming assembly elections.

Former chief minister S M Krishna will in all probability head the panel with Congress Working Committee member G Parameshwara as deputy chairman. The committee will have 20 members including three women.

AICC sources told Deccan Herald on Sunday that the committee is likely to consist of the following members: KPCC president M Mallikarjuna Khage, former chief minister Dharam Singh, former deputy chief minister Siddaramaiah, MPs Venkatesh Naik, Janardhana Poojary and Ambareesh, former Karnataka ministers H K Patil, R V Deshpande and D K Shivakumar, former Union ministers C K Jaffer Sharief and V Srinivasa Prasad, women leaders Motamma, Umashri and Rani Satish (the last two being special invitees) and former KPCC presidents Allam Veerabhadrappa and V S Koujalagi, besides Shamanur Shivashankarappa.

M P Prakash, who has just joined the Congress, may also be inducted into the committee.
Other panels such as election committee, campaign committee and media committee are also likely to be constituted shortly.
