Quarters on recovered land

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Tuesday said that the land acquired from encroachers would be utilised for the construction of houses for police officials.


He was speaking to reporters after laying the foundation stone for the construction of a new building for the Commissioner of Police’ office, on Infantry Road in Bangalore. 

“The Revenue Department has been directed to begin the process. The houses would be constructed in all the four divisions over 50 acres of land very soon”, the CM promised.

Green building
The new building project (costing Rs 18.19 crore), being implemented by Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation Limited under non-residential building scheme, is likely to be completed within one-and-half years.
The building will be built on ‘green building concept’ where there will be no air conditioners. The green building features will enhance the performance of the occupants and bring down energy consumption. The construction will be monitored through Web Based Project Monitoring System (WBPMS). Through the WBPMS, the physical progress of the project can be monitored by sitting anywhere in the world.

Management
The project monitoring system is also integrated with Tally for effective financial management.
To monitor the progress and to have better control on the work, CCTVs will be installed.
The proposed build up area in each floor is around 15064 sqft, while the total proposed built up area is around 117768 sqft.

The building facilities for the parking of 40 car and there will be an auditorium with 200 seating capacity.
The building also houses museum, library, control room, dog squad, bomb detection and disposal squads and fingerprints department.
