Whether it was the tiger hunting for its prey or rhino protecting its new born from the wild cats or the birds providing shelter to its chick from the scorching sun by spreading its wings, it simply gave an impression to the audience that they were transformed to real life from reel life. These were just a few amazing scenes of `Monsoon-India’s God of Life’, a film produced by noted wildlife conservationist Shekar Dattatri, which was screened on Tuesday.
The film, which highlights about the influence of monsoon on India’s wildlife and habitats, was screened as part of the Wildlife Week 2007 celebration, clearly depicts how wildlife of India cope with summer and impact of south west monsoon in lives of the wild. The film revolved on one horned rhinoceros, tiger, python, elephant and, birds. The audience, who were present in good number, appreciated the work of Shekar for capturing some of the rare moments of animals. Expressing concern over the Indian wildlife, he said, “it is not very good at the moment.”
Media especially television are not into saving the planet but more into business, he added.
