This quip by Dr Omprakash, a humour litterateur and son of late Dr M Shivaram, sent the audience into peels of laughter, where they had gathered to celebrate silver jubilee of Aparanji, humour magazine, published from Bangalore, on Tuesday.
Earlier, cine actor and director Ramesh, who was one of chief guests said, “Laughter acts as vacuum cleaner of both heart and mind. There is nothing greater in the world than laughter. Laughter is like a calling bell which makes one open door of his heart and pour out his sorrows. It makes one forget all his sufferings and start enjoying life.”
Mr Srinivas Vaidya, humour writer, said cracking jokes should not be like lighting crackers. Writers like A R Sethuram, Shivaram Karanth, Dr G S Shivarudrappa used to contribute for the magazine. They used to refer to extracts from Bhagavadgeetha, Kumaravyasa Bharatha for their write-ups, he said.Founder of Aparanji Sethuram was felicitated by Dr Chandrashekar Kambar. M Shivakumar, the editor of Aparanji, made a power point presentation on the best cartoons carried by both Aparanji and Koravanji. Well-known singer B Jayashree and her troupe Spandana rendered theatre-songs on the occasion.
