Kasargod beach witnesses
Dandi Satyagraha
DH News Service,Kasargod:
It was the historic Dandi Satyagraha in Nellikunja Kadappura on Tuesday. A huge crowd had gathered here. One wondered whether the screening of a cinema is in progress. But no, it is a Docu-drama presentation of Dandi Satyagraha. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, it seemed as the history was repeating itself in front of everyone.

In the Government Fisheries Higher Primary School at Adkathbail, over 250 children had gathered on the occasion, where the talented children were reliving history. The Kadappura sea shore which always emanates a bad odour had turned into Sabarmati Ashram.
The docu-drama created goose-bumps on the crowd gathered here when it began with the slogan ‘Indian ports, Indian ships, salt satyagraha zindaabad....’ The scenes of masses defying British orders under the leadership of Gandhiji to collect salt water in tumblers undoubtedly created sensations among the onlookers.
The drama concluded with the song ‘Vande Mataram’. The sea shore itself was the stage for the drama, the sound of the sea waves provided the background music and the sun provided stage-lighting.
The enthusiasm and earnest interest was evident on the innocent faces of children.  This was indeed a unique way of celebrating Gandhi Jayanti.
