Informing this to media here on Tuesday, College Principal Dr M Prem D’Souza said nearly 20 colleges from across the country would take part in the fest and each team would comprise a total of 12 students.
The underlying theme of the three-day event is ‘Anveshana’ - discovery of the self - which is aimed at drawing students of every faculty to come together, to seek, to strive and to learn by participating in creative activities, she said.
Union Minister for Labour and Employment Oscar Fernandes will inaugurate the fest. Home Guards District Commandant Dr Shivaprasad Rai will the chief guests, while Principal Dr Prem D’Souza will preside.
In the valedictory to be held at 3.30 pm on October 6, Yenepoya Group of Companies Director Farhaad Yenepoya and Ms Surumi Yenepoya will take part.
The event include competitions like upahasvana (best comedy show), alankara (window dressing), vishwa sanskriti (variety entertainment), athiranjana (mad ad), adhivijjana (quiz), avatatana (movie spoof), adhikarana (mock court), abhinaya (street play), noopura (contemporary dance), patrika (newsletter) and sadhri (best personality).
Staff Co-ordinator Devi Prabha, Student President Manjusha Hebbar and Student Co-ordinator Laxmi Shenoy were present in the press meet.
