Three labourers stuck in the loose mud have been miraculously rescued on Tuesday evening at Samethadka in Puttur.
A landslide occurred while the construction of retaining wall was being constructed and the three workers engaged in their job were stuck in the loose mud that slid from the hillock.
Odiyappa Poojary of Kodipady, Ammu Mera of Urlady Nayaradka and Venkappa of Singani are the rescued labourers. Of the three the condition of Odiyappa Poojary was critical in the beginning but he recuperated after treatment.
The accident occurred while the labourers started digging the ground to build the retaining wall in the residence premises of Baptist Lobo. The wet mud from the hillock slid on the labourers.
The residents rushed to the spot and immediately alerted the fire brigade who promptly rushed to the spot and rescued the victims. The rescued labourers have been admitted to Puttur Government Hospital.
