As soon as his convoy entered the Vidhana Soudha premises where Mr Kumaraswamy was to attend a host of functions, he was the centre of attraction as shutter bugs went non stop capturing his pictures and media personnel rushed towards him to know the latest on the power transfer drama. Amidst all these, supporters shouted slogans like ‘ Kumarannange Jai...’, much to the dismay of his coalition partners present on the occasion as they stood shocked.

At a first function to mark the unveiling of Dr Babu Jagjeevan Ram’s statute, Mr Kumaraswamy apart from promising a slew of welfare measure for the poor and deprived, also administered a pledge on Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy which was to be repeated by the large audience and even the BJP leaders present on the dais.
Later, he participated at a foundation stone laying ceremony of various BBMP developmental works on the stairs of the Vidhana Soudha.
