Stringent action will be initiated against those officials who fail to dispose the files in any department within 7-15 days, said Zilla Panchayat President Chandramma Manjunath and Vice-President Antony.
Addressing a press meet, they said “the zilla panchayat office was inactive for nearly two months.
Officials meet will be convened and will direct the officials to dispose all the pending files within 10 days.”
The Zilla Panchayat day to day activities were slow when DC was the administrator. With the appointment of a CEO, all the activities will take place at a faster pace.
The term of Standing Committee Presidents will come to an end on October 28. New Presidents will be appointed next month. To undertake various developmental works, a sum of Rs 58 crore has been released.
They said they will give priority for drinking water, road, health and education.
“There is some problem in the implementation of National Employment Guarantee Scheme.
The action plan is ready. For the success of the scheme, there is a need to hike the wages in the district,” they added. CEO Sundar Naik said single window system will be introduced for the early disposal of the files. As many 26 posts of Gram Panchayat Secretaries are vacant in the district.
Ready for fight
“We are ready to have legal battle against the government’s move to curtail the powers of the Zilla Panchayat memebrs,” Mr Antony ifnormed.
“Government is trying to spoil the Zilla Panchayat system. All the members have already expressed their opposition towrds the government’s move,” he added.
