Chief Civil Judge Mallikarjuna Kinakeri has opined that people should not approach the courts for trivial issues.
He was speaking at a free legal awareness programme organised by the District Legal Services Authority, District Central Advocates’ Association and Bhagat Singh Rural Youth Welfare Association, at Dodnahalli in Kolar taluk.
“People should be ware of their rights and responsibilities. Daughters have equal rights in their father’s properties. They should amicably settle trivial issues, if any and desist from approaching the courts,” he added.
Help available
People, who have less than Rs 50,000 income, are eligible to avail free legal help. Scheduled Caste people and women do not even have to meet this requirement to avail the benefits, he said.
District Second Fast Track Court judge K Manmohan, who inaugurated the programme said the awareness of law helps people to demand their right. People should give their children good education to be able to make them good human beings.
