Chikkaballapur, dhns: Narayamma from Singatdirenahalli has been elected as the president of the Nandi Grama Panchayat adn Irshad Begum has been elected as the vice president. They were elected unopposed on saturday.
Munivenkatarayappa from Sri Ramapura was elected as the president of the Agalgurki Grama Panchayat with 8 votes. Radhamma from Chikkakadigehalli was elected unopposed as the vice president.
The other candidate for the president’s post was Appaswamy who lost by a slim margin of one vote.
He wound up with 7 votes.
Narayanamma was elected as the president of Manchanbele Grama Panchayat and the Manjulamma will take over the reigns of vice presidentship.
Power meet
Bangalore, dhns: The Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), Bangalore, is organising an international conference on “Polymeric materials in power engineering” from October 4 to 6.
More than 200 delegates including 40 from such countries as US, Europe, Asia will participate in the conference.
A good number of organisations from polymer and electrical industries are also expected to participate in the event.
The event, sponsored by 20 leading organisations, will be inaugurated by Power Grid Corporation of India Chairman and Managing Director Dr R P Singh.
The Joint Secretary in the Union Power Ministry Devender Singh will deliver a key note address at the meet.
